Feel full and banish belly bloat at the same time by choosing high-fiber foods over simple carbs, says Manhattan-based dietitian Sharon Richter. “Unlike simple carbs—think chips and cookies—fruits, vegetables and whole grains are naturally packed with fiber, a nutrient that moves food through your body, reduces bloat and has been shown to reduce body weight in numerous studies,” she says. “Foods that naturally contain fiber are low in calories but are very filling, so you’ll end up keeping your calorie intake down without even trying.” |
