Babymaking Sex! Here's How and When to Do the Deed

Here comes the fun part -- lots (and lots) of sex! Here's when and how to do it.

Here are the pregnancy sex basics: You're most likely to conceive if you have sex right around ovulation. Try to have sex every day, or every other day for six days, ending on the day you ovulate. (Here's how to know when that is!) If your partner has a low sperm count, have sex every other day instead of every day, in order to give his sperm a chance to replenish. What can be tougher is keeping the sparks flying during this process. But don't worry: We've got tips! Mix it up—fit in a quickie before work or make your evening bath a social event for the two of you rather than a solitary activity. Whatever you do, have fun!

Get Pregnant Faster Tip

As odd as it may sound, packing on a few pounds can actually help some thinner women get pregnant. Research suggests that women who have a body mass index (BMI) of less than 18.5 have decreased fertility compared with women who have a normal BMI (the normal range is 18.5 to 24.9). But you don't want to go overboard. Being overweight can cause irregularities in menstruation and ovulation, which can delay conception. Check with your doctor about losing or gaining pounds to get your fertility back on track.
