Although there are scores of silly superstitions about how to make a baby in record time (all of which you should ignore), there are a few things that are likely to help you conceive faster and easier (quit smoking, learn your cycle inside out and reduce the stress in your life, just to name a few). So if patience is not one of your best virtues, here are some ways you may be able to speed up the process.
Get Pregnant Faster Tip Call it quits—today. Smoking may be one of the biggest fertility inhibiters for both men and women. Several studies have found that women who smoke actually go through menopause about two or more years earlier than their nonsmoking counterparts. Smoking also increases your risk of having a miscarriage and possibly an ectopic pregnancy. It's bad for him, too—men who smoke not only have lower sperm counts (as much as 17 percent lower, according to one report—yikes) but also lower sperm motility and greater abnormalities in sperm shape and function, which means that they may never even make it to the egg. Plus, when your partner smokes around you, he makes you vulnerable to many of the same issues you would face if you yourself were lighting up.

| | Herbs to Boost Fertility: Do They Work? "My friend has had a rough pregnancy and is very into organic foods and herbs, so she sent me an article saying that flaxseed can help to regulate ovulation and keep it consistent. I did some further research and found that a lot of people have had success with taking Evening Primrose Oil (EPO) before ovulation, as it helps to create more fertile cervical mucus, and then flaxseed after ovulation. Does anyone have any experience with this?"
